LUCHE COLLECTIVE

Co-founded by Arun Ernesto Munoz and Mary Quinsacara Luche Collective emerges as a generative space of sanctuary and inquiry, fostering creativity and relationality as a form of remedy and restoration.

Luche is a common word used in Chile deriving from the Mapuche language Mapundungun and can mean sea lettuce, hopscotch and a polite suggestion ‘to fight’.

At its heart, Luche embraces seasons of transformation and invites improvisation across art forms within a sense of place on Kulin country.

When the Anchors Float project is currently in development for Luche Collective. Originally a thread of an idea by Mary inspired by a bush walk with friends to Bushrangers Bay on Bunurong country.

Stacked on the shoreline Mary saw carpets of dislodged kelp, triggering an unconscious cultural memory. Then through a program of mentorship with mentor Arun, the thread has grown into a tapestry of ideas, stories and connections now birthed as Luche Collective.
